Helping Reduce ACC Levy Costs
Mar 21, 2011
Recent changes to rules as they apply from Accident Compensation (ACC) mean that we are now able to apply for the minimum cover with ACC which is around $26,000 per annum. You are then able to apply for private insurance cover for the balance of insurance that you require.
This can result in a large reduction in costs per annum, especially for those parties in more risky industries such as building and the trades.
Please contact us should you wish for us to investigate this option for you.
ACC is now also looking at applying to no claim bonus based on an experience rating for your industry. This will mean that save employers will pay less ACC Levies, whilst those who have more work related accidents will see their premiums increase.
You will lose your no claims bonus if you are a small business and you have claims of more than $500.00. So it may pay to consider this when making a very small claim in the future.
For larger clients (More than $10,000 per annum in levies) various factors will be allowed for in determining a discount or loading of +-5%.
A 10% discount can be applied for and to qualify for this you will need to undertake a free industry specific training course and complete a self assessment booklet to IRD. So this could relate to quite a discount for our larger clients.
Please contact our office should you wish for us to undertake a rveiw of your ACC levy costs.
